|Occupation:||Security guard at the Oswald Asylum|
The Security Guard is a character encountered at the Oswald Asylum in Chapter 1.
He is an adult man, probably in his early 40´s with brown hair and a curly moustache. He wears a blue vest that has an 'O' on it, presumably for Oswald Asylum.
He is shown to be rude and impatient, for example, when Fran offers him a cake, he angrily retorts that he doesn't want anything that comes from her. He also shows signs of being a pedophile, as he tells Fran to kiss him and get on his lap if she wants the key on the wall behind him. Even going as far as saying "Look, girl. If you keep coming here, I won't be able to control myself." The other nurses also seem to find him rude or uncomfortable to be around as they refuse to see him to give him his coffee. He doesn't seem to mind swearing in front of children, as he does openly when Fran spilled coffee on him, and again when she was running away from the asylum.
The Security Guard serves as an obstacle to Fran's escape from the Oswald Asylum during chapter one, he prevents Fran from acquiring the office key and must be dealt with before progressing. There are two possible ways for Fran to neutralize him, she can either drug him, causing him to fall asleep, or spill coffee on him, causing him to leave the room.
In order to drug him Fran must first acquire a cinnamon bun and Annie's sleeping pill from the kitchen. She can then combine these items to create a drugged cinnamon bun. When offering the drugged cinnamon bun to the Security Guard it is important to choose the correct dialogue options or he will outright refuse the bun. The following set of responses will lead to him eating the bun and falling asleep:
- "Brought this cake for you.” or “A cake! Eat it!"
- “You'll regret it!”
- “Fresh from the oven!”
If Fran fails to convince the Security Guard to eat the drugged cinnamon bun she can walk back into the kitchen to acquire a cup of hot coffee and use the cup of coffee on the Security Guard, Fran will spill it on him, causing him to storm off and leave the office key unattended.
- His real named is not known, unlike most other staff in the Asylum.
- After Fran entered the maze, he can be seen, despite being killed by Remor. He is never seen again after this. Either his death was all in Fran's head thanks to Remor or seeing him after entering the maze could have been a fear tactic to keep her going.
